On Sunday 16th, Rev. Dr Raja Singh, General Secretary of the Indian Evangelical Mission (IEM) was the guest speaker at the evening Marathi service at St James. We were delighted to invite him and be joined by friends from churches across Manchester and grateful particularly to Pearl and Chris Hardy from St Margaret’s, Burnage, who arranged the visit as part of their ongoing work with IEM.
Rev Dr Singh shared with the congregation the work of the IEM, from its beginnings in the 1960’s to the present day. The IEM has missionaries all over India, bringing the word of God to the ‘unreached’, through Bible translation and the building of churches and church communities. They also run hostels and day care centres for children.
All of the work of the IEM is rooted in prayer and Rev. Dr. Singh stated that the first way in which we can all support the great work of the mission is through prayer.Â
