Place of Welcome launch at St James

On Tuesday we launched our ‘Place of Welcome’ at St James’.

People from both churches and from the local community came together to share cake, drinks and fellowship. The Artsy group, led by Chris, made greetings cards and enjoyed some colouring.

We were joined by Cllr Mahadi Sharif-Mahamed and some of our friends from Mosscare St Vincent, and the room was buzzing with ideas about everything from residents associations to chair exercise to finding help with repair jobs within our homes.

In the weeks to come, we will be looking at how we can address some of these issues, by inviting local community organisations to join us and support people with whatever needs they may voice.

In the meantime, many thanks to all who came and helped the launch go so well. Do drop in on Tuesdays 10-11.30 and bring your friends so we can continue to make the time a true place of welcome.
