An Invitation to Celebrate Together this Autumn

This autumn we are prioritising opportunities to gather across generations and cultures, to welcome friends and neighbours. Intergenerational and intercultural gatherings are powerful moments of grace: they help us to learn from one another, to deepen our friendships, and to reflect the beautiful diversity of God’s kingdom.

Our season begins with Café Church on Sunday 14 September (4.30pm at St James’) where we’ll explore Psalm 51 and the cleansing work of God in our lives. This creative, welcoming space is a chance to share conversation, prayer, and a ‘Bring and Share’ meal together. Perfect for families and people new to church.

On Sunday 28 September, we celebrate our Harvest Celebration at 10.30am in both St James’ and

St Edmund’s. This youth-led intergenerational service will bring children, young people, and adults of all ages together in thanksgiving and praise.

Then comes our joyful Harvest Hoedown on Saturday 11 October (6–9pm at St Edmund’s) — full of dancing, games, hotpots, curries, desserts, and a raffle, with all proceeds raising funds for Maria’s Care School in Uganda.

Finally, on Saturday 18 October (11am–3pm), join us for a BBQ Cricket Match in Alexandra Park and St Edmund’s — a day of food, fun, sport, and fellowship.

Together, let’s step out, invite others, and build a stronger community — across cultures, across generations, that is full of Life + Hope. Revd Tom
